Drive-thru’sThese follow the "water wheel" design of every roundabout.
Traffic is like the water. When there's lots of water, it can be better for some of it to pass straight through the middle of the wheel. There's then less to take up space on the outside. Only the water that needs to get to "outlets" left and right goes that way. Drive-thrus look horrific, but are controlled by traffic lights. They give every "inlet" a chance to go. Markings guide you. Just like with spiral ones. |
