What do you do if you can't quite find the ideal app for your driving instruction? If you can't track your clients' progress, or their payments, or display your proportions of overheads to profits, and see easily if they're rising or falling? Or where your students come from ... or the routes you take? Or easily share with them what they did last time and'll be doing next?
I suppose you could write your own. I think I might. I don't knopw all the ins and outs, but I do have some programming experience and a damn good product up my sleeve. Now I've got some experience,. maybe it's time to put all the features I know are desirable into one eas-to-use product and market it.
I've just registered the name Go Driving, so I can encourage people in the industry to comment on the web, giving clues as to what's really wanted. (It's also a clue to the commecial database software on which it'll be based, which is a cinch to write in and leaves a beautiful interface for us all to enjoy).
Info is only as good as the purposes to which it can be put, so let's make those varied and numerous, and the harvesting of it painless and straightforward. Fun, even.
Once I've got my finals a little more prepared, I'll get onto turning my wish list into an evidential reality. Could be more lucrative than teaching ...
Not only can clients now save time and money using very short videos I'm uploading, on all the common questions and issues, but they can have the route of their lesson (with timings) emailed to them.
It comes with timings, so they can see how long manoeuvres took, which junctions they navigated, and take in all the roadsign and traffic information from the comfort of their laptop or smartphone.
Couple this with a free video of their lesson, and they can spot what they were especially happy with, what they'll watch out to improve next time, how far they've progressed, and share with friends and family.
