In the city of Bath, for example, push-buttons on light-controlled pedestrian crossings have been deactivated. So the lights change on a cycle, without anyone pressing anything! And one-way systems have changed the layout of lots of narrow Georgian roads as space is made for walkers to pass safely.
Out of town, joggers may run into the road if they see another person on the pavement, and cyclists might swerve to steer well clear of someone in ways you never saw before.
So, be alert. Anticipate! And save lives.
