“Are we nearly there yet?” we ask, this time from the FRONT of the car. I don’t think we are.
The DVSA suspended practical tests for “up to 3 months” from 30 March. Earliest dates now being offered are 2 July.
However, theory tests are currently being put back a week at a time, at about 48 hours notice. Theory tests have been conducted at only 25 centres nationwide.
This makes it likely that those early practical tests will also be rescheduled. Presently, only Garretts Green test centre is operational in Birmingham (for emergency tests for keyworkers).
I do not know if Redditch or Wednesbury is open at the moment. Much depends on which examiners have volunteered to break social distancing rules and work. (In early April there were about 400 working from a normal pool of 2500 examiners nationally).
As always, I will update you as I hear. In the meantime, do consider some easy “homework” :)
