Turning off

When approaching a side road to turn into, use the "hazard routine":  Mirrors, Signal, Position, Speed, Look (MSPSL).

Use mirrors as soon as you see the junction.  Use a turning signal (if safe) about 6-8 car lengths from it.  Delay the signal if, on your side, there's an obstruction or an earlier turning, as it might confuse others.

When 2-3 car lengths away, assess the corner to know which
gear to use : 2 if normal; 1 if sharp.  Bring the clutch up and ease off the brake before you start steering.
Start to unsteer half way round the corner, gently adding gas.  Check centre and right mirrors to be sure it's safe to speed up.
